Mads is qualified as a Danish Advokat and an English Solicitor and in 2002 moved from City law firm Osborne Clarke with Per Troen to help start the legacy firm.

He has extensive experience in Nordic cross-border as well as tax, banking and finance issues.  He works closely with both private and public companies, financial institutions and executives, particularly in the UK and Nordic countries.

Mads assists many entrepreneurs and owner managers with their corporate, commercial and private client matters. He was also on the team winning the ”Claverton Enterprise Project Award 2000” sponsored by 3i.

Birkwells believes in supporting the local community. Mads joined the Danish-UK Association’s Board of Directors at its incorporation as a merger of the Danish Club and the Danish-UK Chamber of Commerce in 2017. Until then Mads held office as a member of the Danish Club’s Board Committee from 2011. During this period, he served as the Club’s treasurer from 2014. In 2023 Mads joined as member of the Church Council of the Danish Church in London.
